Mildred Hunt Wummer

Mildred Hunt Wummer studied flute with Georges Barrère and then with John Wummer, whom she married in 1942. She performed with the Adolph Busch Chamber Players, Bach Circle, and New Friends of Music, and was first flutist of the New York Sinfonietta, Brico Symphony, and New York Women's Symphony. For many years she was the official accompanist of the New York Flute Club. She also served as music critic of the Daily Capital and Kansas City Star. Mildred Hunt Wummer taught flute and ensemble at Washburn College, several midwestern colleges, and at the Dalcroze School and Mannes College of Music in New York.
