Sue Ann Kahn

Sue Ann Kahn was honored with one of the first Solo Recitalist Fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts and received the American New Music Consortium Award for distinguished performances of contemporary music. She continues to champion new music, and American composers as diverse as George Crumb, Harvey Sollberger, Ralph Shapey, and Peter Schickele have written works for her. She won the Naumburg Chamber Music Award as a member of the Jubal Trio and is also a member of the League-ISCM Chamber Players.
Ms. Kahn has recorded music of all periods for MMG, Vox-Candide, Capstone, New World, CRI, and most recently, the Mozart flute quartets for Albany Records. She was president of the National Flute Association in 2005. Formerly professor of music at Bennington College and director of the Mannes Preparatory Division, she is on the faculty of the Chamber Music Conference and Composers Forum of the East, Columbia University, and the Mannes College of Music.
